Should I do this on my own, or call MinnAssist?

You're not alone. In 2026, 184,963 Minnesotans lost Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare at renewal, and 86% of them lost it over paperwork, not because they stopped qualifying (Minnesota DHS renewal data, see our renewal tracker). Is there an asset limit for seniors?

For Medical Assistance for people 65 and older, the limit is $3,000 for one person and $6,000 for two. See our asset limit page.
