What is MNsure? Minnesota's place to get health coverage, explained simply.

• Medical Assistance (MA): Minnesota's Medicaid program, free or low-cost, for people with low incomes.
• MinnesotaCare: low-cost coverage for people whose income is a little too high for MA.
• Private plans (bronze, silver, gold) with tax credits that can lower your monthly premium.

• Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare: any time of year.
• Private plans: open enrollment runs November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027. Sign up by December 15 for coverage that starts January 1.
• Outside open enrollment, a life change like losing coverage, moving or having a baby can open a special enrollment period.

• The application asks about everyone in your home, income, taxes and immigration status. One wrong answer can mean a denial or a letter asking for more proof.
• We go through every question with you by phone, and help with the letters that come after.
• We support all languages. Free.
