Lost Medical Assistance? You can get it back without reapplying
If your Medical Assistance ended because your renewal paperwork wasn't finished, you may not need to reapply. Minnesota's 4-month reconsideration period lets you send your renewal paperwork instead.
Your renewal form, or the proof that was requested, must be received by the last day of the fourth month after your coverage ended. Coverage that ended July 31 has a deadline of November 30, 2026.
About 40,900 Minnesotans whose coverage closed over paperwork from July to October 2026 are inside this window now, according to MinnAssist's analysis of DHS renewal data.
Use our free deadline calculator, or call MinnAssist at (866) 655-6606 and we help you send it in.
