What are the Medical Assistance income limits in Minnesota?
For coverage from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027, an adult living alone can get Medical Assistance with income up to about $1,769 a month ($21,227 a year). Children can qualify at much higher incomes. Based on the 2026 federal poverty guidelines (133% for adults, 275% for children). Pregnant people and babies under 2 have higher limits. These are approximate. The county decides after you apply.
What counts as income
Wages, self-employment income after business expenses, unemployment and Social Security. Child support you receive and SSI do not count. Some rules differ for people over 65 or with a disability.
